F.A.Q.’s

What is I.P.M.?

Integrated pest management is a combination of non-chemical and chemical treatments such as inspection, sanitation and exclusion. When applying a chemical treatment, we use the safest and least amount of product as possible, while still having positive results. We communicate with our clients to create and customize a treatment that suits their needs.

What is exclusion?

Pests require food, water and shelter in order to survive; all of which can be found in each persons home. By carefully inspecting each home, we identify any possible entry points for pests. We then take the necessary steps to decrease these entry points. Exclusion is a major component in every I.P.M. program.

Should I wait until I have a pest problem before hiring a pest control specialist?

We cater to our clients needs. When it comes to this, no choice is the wrong choice. We can take care of any pest that invades your living space, or we can set up a preventative maintainence program to discourage and prevent pests from ever entering your home.

Why am I seeing so many spiders?

First, spiders are beneficial because they feed off of and help to control insects in and around your home. However, many people view spiders as pests themselves. Seeing that spiders are predators, if you have a high population of spiders, you probably have some other pest problem that is their ongoing food source. By eliminating these other pests, we are also removing the spider’s food source. You an also help in reducing you spider population by sealing off entry points such as spaces under doors by installing door sweeps. Cleaning and dusting will also discourage them from building webs. Also, the lighting outside of your home attracts other insects, which can be some enticing food for spiders. Lighting on the outside of your home should be away from the entry points such as doors and windows.
